My name is DC Okonta, and I’m running for Kansas City’s 4th District At-Large City Council seat.

Kansas City has always been home—I grew up in Hyde Park (Midtown), and the Northland, studied at UMKC and KUMC, and today live in Hyde Park. My career in public health and work as a fitness coach have allowed me to serve people across our city and see firsthand the challenges our neighborhoods face.

I’m running because I love Kansas City and want to make sure that as our city grows, no one is left behind. My highest priority will always be the concerns of residents of the 4th District. My focus is clear: healthier communities, affordable housing, safe and accessible neighborhoods, strong support for small businesses, and a local government that listens and is accountable to the people.

This campaign is about us—the people who make up the vibrant tapestry of District 4. I’m ready to listen, lead, and get to work for you. I’d be honored to have your support.
